Anthropomorphic Mutualism
Whenever I go out into the forest, I feel a sense of grounding as I am surrounded by nature and its beauty. Nature frees me from all problems of life, and when looking around on my walks in the woods, I find myself concentrating on the “self”. Through investigating nature, I am compelled to understand the symbiotic relationship where all species involved benefit from their interactions. This helps me to reflect on my role and purpose of being.
My sculptural pieces have been prompted by several influences. One is my belief that many of us have lost our natural sense of home. My pieces have become an emotional landscape for me and reflect the human connection with nature.
In the forest the colours are vibrant, the sounds of nature nourish the soul and serenity calms the busy mind. Here we are reminded that beauty is not about perfection, but the beautifully imperfect, and our power lies within embracing all that we are, unconditionally.
